Dr. Nima Shahi
Dr. Nima Shahi is a distinguished ophthalmologist with a wealth of expertise and a track record of excellence in the field. He treats a wide variety of ocular diseases from cataract, to glaucoma to retinal pathologies, but his true passion is refractive surgery. Dr. Shahi has performed thousands of laser refractive procedures, and continually strives to incorporate the best and the latest innovations to improve patient outcomes.
With a specialization in glaucoma management, Dr. Shahi has made significant contributions to the field, serving as the Chief of Glaucoma Service at the prestigious Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
As a faculty member of the Harvard Medical School, he participated in teaching ophthalmology to medical students, residents and fellows, sharing his expertise with the next generation of medical professionals. He has also been invited to present his research findings and insights at numerous national and international conferences, showcasing his leadership and innovation in the field.
Dr. Shahi’s academic journey includes a Glaucoma Fellowship at the University of British Columbia, where he worked under the mentorship of Dr. F. Mikelberg, and an ophthalmology residency at McGill University. He holds an M.D., C.M. from McGill University, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in Physiology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Shahi has been recognized for his outstanding achievements, receiving awards such as the Highest Academic Achievement Award from the Department of Ophthalmology at McGill University. He has been listed on the Dean’s Honor List and received the McConnell Award for academic excellence during his medical education.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys an active lifestyle, participating in cycling tours, triathlons, running events, hiking, snowboarding, and exploring new destinations around the globe.
